The S.S. Columbia

A benefit will be held this Saturday, September 19th, in Wyandotte, MI, in support of the S.S. Columbia Project. The S.S. Columbia, a steamship excursion liner built in 1902 for service on the Detroit River, is America’s oldest surviving passenger steamer, a National Historic Landmark Vessel. Out of service since 1991, the boat has been acquired by the S.S. Columbia Project, which plans to restore it and bring it back into service on the Hudson River, both to create additional public access to the Hudson River Valley and its communities, and as a unique educational platform, museum, and events venue.
