I was in the audience at the film festival on the Saturday, in a row in front of me Ruth Reichl on one end of the aisle and a lovely slim woman who I couldn't quite place on the other (Dawn Fratangelo I figured out later, after some thinking, remembering, and googling).
Driving back from An Education (which I agree with RR I didn't "buy" either), it was a hard driving pouring slashing rain, a white-knuckled ride home. My husband hated me for the admonitions - slow down, I know it says 45 mph but I say it's night and nasty out and horrible and please can you go like -- my husband assumed I meant 15, so he did maybe 40.
Headlights trained I saw in the lovely night roads all manner of frogs or maybe toads taking advantage of a wet warm rainy night. It was like a party for them.
We hope (but aren't convinced) that no exuberant amphibious creatures were killed in the process of attending the Film Festival that night.
